Just today, Albano led Susan Wagner to a dramatic 63-55 comeback victory over New Dorp, while Rebracca scored 28 points in Sea’s decisive win against Salesian.
In Sea View, Albano’s impressive 24 points included nine crucial points in the final quarter, showcasing his knack for clutch performances. The Falcons rallied back to improve their record to 10-2, demonstrating resilience after trailing at halftime. “We knew New Dorp was a very talented team,” said SW head coach Danny Lanigan. “We saved our best for last, and it paid off.”
Despite leading at various points throughout the game, New Dorp fell to 6-4. Omari Onwe led the Centrals with 15 points, but the Falcons outscored them by ten in the final frame, cementing their victory.
Meanwhile, in Huguenot, Nick Rebracca tied his career high with 28 points, leading Sea to a commanding 73-52 win over Salesian. The junior swingman not only scored but also drained a season-high six three-pointers during the game, propelling the Vikings to a 5-2 league record and 6-2 overall.
Point guard Nick Lee and sixth man Luca Mineo each contributed 10 points, while the Vikings’ defense stifled Salesian early, allowing them to build a substantial lead. Rebracca’s early scoring helped Sea establish a 19-4 advantage, which they maintained throughout the game.
In other action, Taylor Allderdice defeated St. Peter’s 52-45 in Pittsburgh, where senior Nico Parlanti led the Eagles with 17 points. Despite a fourth-quarter surge, St. Peter’s couldn’t overcome an early deficit, dropping to 2-4 overall.
Also on Staten Island, WHEELS secured a 61-43 victory over Eagle Academy SI. The Wolves took control in the third quarter, with Miguel Martinez leading the way with 15 points. Eagle remains at 2-5 in league play after a competitive first half.
In the junior varsity match, Susan Wagner defeated New Dorp 61-27, with Dylan Ameneiros leading the Falcons with 14 points. The Falcons built a hefty halftime lead, thanks to strong performances from Jayden Acea and Kyle Kyee.
