UPDATE: A man has been arrested following a dramatic road rage incident that escalated into gunfire in Hartford, Connecticut, on July 20, 2023. Police responded urgently to reports of shots fired near Park and Washington Streets just before 8:40 PM.
According to Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department, officers found that the driver who called for help reported damage from gunfire to their vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this alarming incident.
Authorities quickly shared a description of the suspect’s vehicle with surrounding police units. Thanks to the swift actions of the Hartford Police Violent Crimes Unit and the Greater Hartford Regional Auto Theft Task Force, the vehicle was located shortly after the incident.
The suspect has been identified as Lorenzo Dunn, a 30-year-old Hartford resident. He was taken into custody without incident. Inside Dunn’s vehicle, police allegedly discovered a firearm along with narcotics, raising concerns about public safety in the area.
Further investigation revealed that Dunn was already wanted for an earlier assault involving a firearm. He now faces multiple charges, including criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, illegal discharge of a firearm, and criminal possession of a firearm, among others.
