URGENT UPDATE: Authorities have arrested Daniel Berwick, a 39-year-old man from Old Bridge, New Jersey, for allegedly producing child sex abuse materials. The arrest took place on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, following a critical cyber tip-off from the New Jersey State Police.
Berwick faces serious charges, including first-degree production of child sexual abuse material and second-degree manufacturing and possession of such materials. Additionally, he’s charged with third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, using deceptive audio or video files to facilitate crimes, and distributing obscene material to minors. The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the details in an official statement.
The investigation began when law enforcement discovered that Berwick was posing as a 17-year-old boy on Snapchat, using someone else’s photos and videos to attract attention from minors. Multiple agencies, including the Old Bridge Police Department, the FBI Newark Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, and the Dallas Police Department, collaborated on this urgent case.
