William J. Clark, Respected Builder and Community Leader, Dies at 78

UPDATE: The community mourns the loss of William J. Clark, who passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, at the age of 78. His legacy as a prominent builder and dedicated community member resonates deeply across Nashua and beyond.

William was born on January 18, 1947, in Lowell, MA, and spent nearly six decades with his beloved wife, Deborah J. Meisner. Their enduring love story began with their marriage on October 4, 1969, after which they became fixtures in the New Hampshire community, living in Milford and Meredith, and enjoying their home in Venice, FL.

With an impressive career in construction, William founded several successful companies, including Clark Bros. Masonry, which evolved into a premier masonry firm in New England. He was also the first recipient of the New Hampshire Construction Industry Ethics Award in 1997, highlighting his commitment to integrity and ethics in business.

His contributions extended beyond the construction industry; he was actively involved in local organizations. William served on the Board of Directors for the Association of General Contractors and the Nashua Boys Club, and was a long-standing member of the local Rotary Club. He believed in giving back, participating in community events such as the Christmas Tree Sale and the “100 Holes of Golf” for charity.

William’s life was enriched by family and friendships. He cherished his time with his daughters, Mimi Rainford, Stacy J. Clark, and Stephanie J. Clark, along with his grandchildren and extended family. Known for his wisdom and kindness, he was a source of support for many, offering guidance without judgment.

In his leisure time, William was a passionate golfer, a member of multiple country clubs, and an enthusiastic participant in curling competitions. He loved winter sports, including snow skiing and ice fishing, and made lasting memories during family gatherings, especially at Christmas.

Funeral arrangements are set for December 12, 2025, with visiting hours on December 11 at Mayhew Funeral Home in Meredith, NH. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Charles Church at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Milford Rotary Club & Foundation or Share Outreach in Milford, NH.

The community remembers William not just for his achievements, but for his generous spirit and the love he shared with those around him. His impact will be felt for years to come, a testament to a life well-lived and deeply cherished.
