Megan Thee Stallion is demanding evidence from Emilio Garcia, the man suing her for allegedly creating a hostile work environment. Garcia’s lawsuit, filed over a year ago, claims that Megan forced him to watch her engage in sexual acts in a car during her European tour. In a recent motion reported by Billboard, Megan’s legal team insists that Garcia must substantiate his allegations.
Megan’s attorney, Alex Spiro, referenced a legal precedent in urging Garcia to “put up or shut up.” In the motion, Spiro stated, “Plaintiff still has no evidentiary support for his sensationalized and baseless claims. No longer can plaintiff hide behind presumptions of truth for allegations unmoored to any factual support.”
Garcia’s lawsuit alleges that he was terminated from his position as a videographer on the tour following the purported incident. In contrast, Megan maintains that the accusations are “false and fabricated.” Her legal filing asserts that evidence shows Garcia’s own derogatory text messages about her, rather than any legitimate complaints about his work environment, led to the end of his employment.
The legal battle has drawn attention to the dynamics between artists and their employees. Garcia’s attorney, Ron Zambrano, responded to the motion by expressing confidence that the judge would reject Megan’s request. He criticized the approach often taken by celebrities in legal disputes, stating, “This is just the MO of celebrities when they’ve been sued. They don’t settle, they don’t resolve. They just try to get rid of it, never looking at themselves to see if they’re at all at fault for what’s happened to their own employees.”
In addition to the lawsuit against Megan, Garcia is also pursuing legal action against Roc Nation, the management company representing her. Roc Nation’s lawyers have filed their own motion aimed at dismissing the case, arguing, “The time has come to end the burden and expense that this suit has imposed on Roc Nation.”
The unfolding situation highlights the complexities of legal disputes in the entertainment industry, where personal and professional lines often blur. As the court proceedings continue, both parties remain steadfast in their positions, with significant implications for the individuals involved and the broader entertainment community.
