The North Dakota Farm Bureau (NDFB) is set to commemorate NDFB Week from March 8 to March 14, 2026, under the theme “Harvesting Hope: For Healthy Minds and Safer Farms.” This annual event aims to promote well-being, safety initiatives, and support for farmers, ranchers, and their families.
A key feature of the week is a drawing contest for students in grades 4 and 5. The contest encourages young artists to express how they contribute to farm safety through their artwork. The theme “Farm Safety Starts With Me” invites students to create drawings that illustrate specific safety behaviors that can help prevent injuries on farms.
Artwork submission guidelines are straightforward. Participants must use 8.5-inch by 11-inch paper and include their name, grade, school, and contact information on the back of their drawings. All entries must reach the NDFB office by March 4, 2026, to be considered. Two winners will be chosen from each grade based on creativity and overall design.
Winners of the contest will be announced during NDFB Week and will receive a prize of $50. Their artwork will also be featured in NDFB’s publication, Focus, showcasing their contributions to promoting farm safety.
The NDFB is committed to enhancing farm safety and mental well-being among the agricultural community. Additional resources, including tips and videos related to Healthy Minds, can be found on their official website at https://ndfb.org/healthy-minds. This initiative not only fosters creativity among students but also emphasizes the importance of safety in agricultural settings, reinforcing that everyone plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment on farms.
